Its pretty easy to get frozen escargots that has spiced butter already in the shell in Europe from grocery stores, but how do I get things like those in Atlanta? Of course for merely cheap price not the gourmet things. thanks

This is a HUGE PROBLEM… my cats bizarre behavior has cost me 100’s of dollars in replacement wires (not to mention all the ones I’ve wire stripped and taped to repair… usually over & over again). He’s been lucky not to get fried yet! (I live off-grid & there’s often no juice in the line as we conserve). Does anyone have a theory of what his problem is?… psychological, nutritional, etc. or is he just demented? I have to admit, I’d ship him off to Siberia if I had a bit less heart (but he is wearing it down). I can’t take the senseless destruction of necessites + I live too darn far from civilization to replace things even if I could afford to. Any suggestions on a solution? I’ve thought of HABENERO PEPPER soaked wires, but how to do it, w/o creating another problem (I envision all the household wires covered in a “spicy” dirt, debris & dog/cat fur coating & it’s a frightful site). I need a method that’s clean & effective in “spicing things up”. Many cyber-hugs for any info/help!!

I know this may seem like a silly question but I was just wondering if anyone had an ideas on how to spice up a grilled cheese sandwich? I love grilled cheese sandwiches (Who doesn’t?) but I was wanting to know if anyone had any receipes for something more GOURMET? I’d like to impress my friends by turning something simple into something FABULOUS!
Thanks for the suggestions! You are on the right track. I’m hoping for some alternative cheese options. I usually use American cheese but that’s boring!

The second date or so he has you over and brings out a really nice meal. Is that a little too much too quick? Does the great cook reputation increase the date-ability or does it somehow impinge on his manhood? Would it be presumptuous to assume a menu? Would it be better to bring out the fancy stuff or perhaps keep the first meal to simpler fare?

I was thinking;

Green salad, served with deviled eggs made with Sriracha Vietnamese hot sauce. Spicy enough to stimulate conversation but not so hot as to endanger anyone)

Salmon, grilled with lot’s of lime.
Served on a bed of couscous.
Topped with a mushroom/artichoke/wine sauce.

Grilled Hearts of Romaine brushed with Olive Oil and spices and grilled with the Salmon for the last 5 minutes (kudos Allan)

Fresh bread with dipping mix (the mix I’ll make with Olive oil, balsamic vinegar et al, the bread I’ll buy)

Mushroom Caps, stuffed with minced, craw fish, cheese, etc.

Dessert’ Bite size cheesecakes in plain and Chocolate. These I make myself and are, according to popular acclaim, incomparable.

I’ve thawed out 2.5 lbs of these lovely chops. I’m sort of bored and would like to make something different.

I am a very good cook and have a well stocked kitchen. I’m certain that I have 90% of the gourmet herbs and spices that can be purchased at a fine grocer or grown in my Florida garden.

I have a good supply of all the standard fresh veggies, greens, tomatoes, potatoes, fruit, etc. including a nice head of green cabbage and a large rutaba.

I have plenty of frozen and canned goods (including an enormous assortment of beans). I have a large assortment of kitchen tools and appliances.

Please send me your recipes and/or meal suggestions – no matter how simple or complicated. This family likes ALL types of food – homey or fancy. So, just tell me what your favorites are and give me some inspiration please.
