What kind of work (other than MLM online biz) can I help my 72 y/o father find? He can’t make ends meet.?
My parents are struggling to make ends meet. They would sell the house and get something smaller, but becasue they owe the IRS so much money, they would not see anything for it. What kind of work (other than MLM online biz) can you suggest? Thank you for your help.
Check with the senior citizens clubs in your area. What did he do for a living? Can he do any consulting in that industry?
Who is likely to have more financial success, a monkey selling pencils or anyone doing MLM?
Mexico4me – good to see you are back. Weren’t you going to message me? Don’t you recall, you need to bring your sense of humor when answering my questions.
Not a great analogy yet, a great point.
I don’t think their is a monkey in history who has achieved any financial success that he/she could call their own.
Take a monkey and train them to sell a pencil, you will make great money for sure.
Take a salesman and teach him marketing tactics that attract the naive, he will do well too.
Far too many people do not do well with MLM because of business ethics. The people who do well (very few statistically) understand that few will ever make a profit. The recruiting practices of the participants often cross the legal lines. The companies building business under the MLM business model also understand marketing to attract the naive. Just as well as the companies marketing quick weight loss or other fads. You can find this type of practice in your own industry which I assume is real estate.
With all that aside. My point would be, it takes a certain few to make this business model work. Not the mass that the companies target.
The Vandruff’s have written a great article on why the business model does not work. http://www.vandruff.com/mlm.html

How can I work from home using my computer?
How can I work from home using my computer?
I am currently unemployed. I always come across ads on craigslist, and careerbuilder, as well as other sites for work at home jobs. I know that the envelope stuffing gig is a scam but what about the clerical work, and data entry jobs. If anyone knows of any legitimate jobs where I can work from home, without paying astronomicals fees to start…Please respond.
Please no responses from people working for Paid Survey websites. Any experiences good or bad, please respond.
Thank You
Real online data entry jobs are available. But you need to be careful. Most of the company’s income come from member sign up fee not from actual work. So be careful about paid signup.
Who has experience with network marketing and taxes?
I received a 1099 from my network marketing company for commissions and overrides. I also received a statement from them called Taxable Income REcap that shows how much I spent on Purchasing Products. You buy products at wholesale and sell them at retail. The difference is your income or "right now" money. This money is not easily tracked because they can’t tell how much you sold at full cost, how much you sold at discounts and how much you kept for personal use or as gifts to further your business. Do I need to somehow claim this on my taxes as income or should I just claim what was noted on my 1099? There is also a box on my 1099-MISC form that is checked that says "Payer made direct sales of $5000 or more of consumer products to a buyer (recipient) for resale." Does this relate to me or is this the company just saying that I bought more than $5000 worth of stuff to sell as I see fit? Anyone have any experience with this on their federal taxes?
You will need to fill out a schedule c. That is where you report the cost of goods sold, the income you made and how much product you have left. I would claim the income on my 1099 and anymore that you might have from this business. All a 1099 is what they(the co.) has pd you. They do not know what you spent or made elsewhere. You can look up instructions for a schedule c on IRS.gov. Type schedule c in the key words box.
